After what I believed to be thorough investigation, I purchased TWO Asus SV1T videophones. When I plugged in the power and network cable, I marveled at how easy the device was to use. Then I tried to connect via Wifi.

Unfortunately, it was only at this point that I discovered a long documented history of problems with the Asus videophone and Wifi connection. I read every comment I could find and tried every trick in the book to get the videophone to connect to my network via Wifi, ultimately a Sisyphean task.

As a previous Skype forum poster noted, for the price, this appliance really should be "fool proof" and "just work." I am sure the vast majority of users want to connect via wifi, rather than cable, so it seems the connectivity issue should have been something addressed and resolved quite some time ago. Yet, I haven't been able to find any satisfactory resolution posted to this or any other forum on any website.

I will call Taiwan tomorrow with a Chinese interpreter on the line and try to get someone to help address this issue. But I am not hopeful.
